Information
To quickly get an idea of the appropriate screw size, you can open the capacity diagram that indicates the maximum capacity of each screw size at different lengths. The diagram takes shaft diameter and the appropriate solidity of materials with a volume weight of 1 ton/m³ into account using the following assumptions:
Screw diameter: maximum in relation to deflection
Thread pitch: 0.8 x screw diameter
Speed: 60 rpm
Example:
Capacity requirement: 100 m³/h
Trough length: 6,5 m
Select screw type 500 with a capacity of 116 m³/h
For inclined screws, reduce the capacity. Inclines greater than 30° are not recommended because large inclines require transport according to the centrifugal principle, as is the case with vertical screws. Feel free to ask for our advice if you are uncertain.
